BROWSE TEAM MEMBERS:
I am a Georgia native, and have lived in Marietta for the majority of my life. Marietta is an incredible place to grow up, and I really enjoyed the small town atmosphere that it possesses (while still being a short drive from Atlanta). My passion for design started at Georgia Southern University, where I received my BFA in Graphic Design and really grew as an artist and as a person. The skills I learned helped me transition into my position as a Designer here at EYStudios, where I get to be creative and make designs that impact people’s lives.
Derek’s great attitude is something that continues to help him notch more and more design victories on his belt. We’ve struggled with designers picking up what we do in the past, but Derek just gets it. I’m excited to see his designs each time I look over his shoulder.
STUFF I LOVE:
PASTIMES/HOBBIES:
I enjoy traveling, playing tennis, making music with friends, cooking, drawing, painting, watching movies, and going to concerts.
MUSIC:
I really love music of all types, but my favorite type of music would have to be classic rock and improvisational jam music. My favorite artists include Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Outkast, The Grateful Dead, Bill Withers, Phish, Pretty Lights, Eric Clapton, A Tribe Called Quest, String Cheese Incident, and Tommy Guerrero.
ROLE MODELS:
My parents have to be my biggest role models. They have instilled in me a great sense of values and have made me the man I am today.

MOVIES/TV SHOWS:
I typically only turn on the TV to watch sports, but HBO seems to always take the cake when it comes to programming. I love Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. I also enjoy documentaries and shows on National Geographic and The History Channel.
BOOKS:
I don’t read as much as I used to, but some of my favorites while growing up were To Kill a Mockingbird, The Swiss Family Robinson, and The Hobbit. This question makes me sad… I need to start reading more.
WEBSITES:
Stumble Upon is more of a portal to other websites, but I can spend hours stumbling and finding interesting new sites. I spend a good amount of time on Facebook and Twitter, but I also enjoy going to design blogs like Juxtapoz.com and Thisiscolossal.com.
VACATION SPOTS:
I love visiting my family in Puerto Rico. It’s always nice to be able to go to a tropical paradise and just relax on the beach.
SUPER HERO:
My superhero is my dad. He has worked incredibly make sure that me and my family has a great life. My other superhero is my mom, who taught me what it means to be respectful and honest.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING HERE:
I think that the culture and the pursuit of excellence are what makes EY so special.
