Success Story: Greek Gear
Posted | By: Joe Tantillo, GreekGear.com

Why did you decide to re-design Greek Gear?
We were not planning on a redesign this past year, but Eric reached out to us and asked to do a site evaluation for us. His evaluation was so detailed and needed. We saw many mistakes we had been making in branding and on site marketing of our products.
What attracted you to EYStudios? How did you find us?
I have known and used EY for smaller projects for several years and have always heard great things about him. His trust and good heart was what made this a slam dunk for us. We knew EY had the talent, but he also backed it up with great character.
What was your first thought when you saw your new completed site?
I slept with my browser open that whole first week. Id wake up in the middle of the night and look over at it. It was a big change for a 10 year old company New logo, new look, but it was time.
What kind of a response did you receive from your customers?
We did lots of surveying and testing and are still doing surveys the responses are great.
What kind of a response did you receive from your employees/family/friends regarding the re-design? We launched just before IRCE in Boston this past year. Mike Ober from Yahoo actually used the old Greekgear in his presentation as a model of what to do to help increase conversions. At the end of his program, he pulled up the new Greekgear for all to see. A room with nearly 300 high performing Yahoo store owners went wild, applauding and many even standing up it was an incredible moment for me A new era had begun!
What changes did you see in your conversion rate?
Just a snapshot of August 2008 vs. August 2009 Conversion was up 30% - Do you realize what a 30% increase on a multimillion dollar, 10 year old site is! Needless to say EY is redoing another of our 30 + websites as I write this.
How would you describe your experience with EYStudios?
EY Is so much more then just another vendor to our company. We check in with each other often and they genuinely care about me and my business. Eric has become not only a valued partner but a good friend as well.
What advice do you have for others looking to re-design their site?
I think it depends on the size of your store and how long you have been selling online. If you are a newbie, EY can help you compete almost immediately. They know what works and doesnt work. If you are an ecommerce veteran Having someone look at your site in a whole new light, can pay off huge dividends, Before we used to just list products, now we promote them! We have pushed the features and options on our site to the limit and have created a much better customer experience all things I never knew were possible before we handed over the keys to Eric and his team at EYStudios.
