At EYStudios, we have some steadfast rules when it comes to slogans. The first rule to a successful slogan is to have one. A slogan is one of the first chances that you have to say exactly what it is you have to offer. You have only a few seconds to convince a customer to stay on your site, and one way to do so, is to inform them of what you have to offer.
Here are some tips on how to create the most effective slogan.
1. Say what you sell. If you sell purple flamingo statues, say it in your slogan. Tell them right away exactly what it is you sell.
2. Make sure that your slogan sets you apart from the competitors. There can be a draw to want to step in line with your competitors to keep up with them. But you need to blow right past that level and create your own new one.
3. Keep it short. Slogans are not jingles, they don’t have to be overly witty or master pieces. The longer the slogan, the more risk you run of losing the main thought. If you can get your slogan down to 4-7 words, run with it!
As short and simple as a slogan may appear, do not underestimate its hidden potential for your site and company.
