Diana and Chris, owners of VermontWildflowerFarm.com took a few minutes to share with us the company's history and their experiences with the recent re-design.

How did you get your start with the Vermont Wildflower Farm?
Both Chris and I were working as Senior Managers for a corporate company but wanted to be in business for ourselves. For a few years we had been passing by the Vermont Wildflower Farm and wishing it was for sale as the present owners were allowing it to deteriorate. It was the perfect business for us as it had every element we were looking for and suited our backgrounds and expertise perfectly. One day while browsing a broker’s book looking for businesses for sale we saw the Vermont Wildflower Farm listed and have not looked back since. We have had to take what was initially supposed to be a turn-key business and re-build the entire business from the ground up.

What brought about the start of your eCommerce store?
The Vermont Wildflower Farm has always had a website which initially started as an informational site and an e-commerce site for gift, garden and bulb products. Since we have a brick and mortar retail location the site was complimentary to that.

What is your favorite thing about running your company/site and why?
Our favorite thing about running our company is what the company is actually about – gardening! We love to deal with our customers each day and assist them in bringing peace and beauty to their land by filling areas with wildflowers, perennials, bulbs etc. which is not only beneficial to the environment but a necessity in today's development prone society for pollinators, wildlife and birds, along with being beautiful and easy to prepare and care for. We also are able to work outside tending our own acres. It is a very complex business with many facets that make it interesting every single day. Along with the above aspects of the business, we are able to enjoy visitors to the actual farm seasonally from all over the world.

What prompted the re-design of VermontWildflowerFarm.com?
With the increased growth of the company, we needed to be on the same playing level as competitors in our field as well as to offer our customers a beautiful, easy to use shopping and informational website.

How would you describe your overall experience with EYStudios?
Our overall experience with EY has been excellent. We are very pleased with the new design and overall function. The design team worked and listened to every nuance of our business and captured the essence perfectly. Every change and function was programmed to perfection, accommodating all of our demands with a smile, even if you were all throwing darts at our faces behind the scenes. Our liaison worked her hardest to insure everything was met in a timely manner and we have thoroughly enjoyed the working relationship – so much so, that we are looking forward to a continued relationship for years to come to insure that we always stay on top and take our website to new levels yearly.

What is your favorite part of the new design, and why?
One of our favorite parts of the website is the overall look and feel, the colors, the graphic touches and the way the entire thing is put together and functions. We also love all the quirky features and extra bling that the whole website contains. There is no one favorite part of the website because the whole thing is actually FANTASTIC!

What advice do you have for other store owners looking to re-design their site?
The only advice I would give and have given to others looking to re-design their website is to simply pick up their telephone and call EYStudios and let them walk you through the process. Anyone doing this can be assured with 100% confidence that when the whole process is completed, they will be 100% satisfied, along with being amazed at the final product.

What are the plans for your company moving forward?
Our plans for moving forward are to expand our company and take it to new levels while providing our customers both present and new with the best gardening company out there.
