Hanover Home is an indoor and outdoor online furniture retailer based out of Philadelphia. Their aim is to bring warm and welcoming touch to every space. Looking to move platforms and undergo a full site redesign, they contacted EYStudios for help.

The Challenge

Coming from an older platform, 3DCart, Hanover experienced a lot of CMS issues. They were unable to update their products quickly and their overall functionality wasn’t great. In addition, they weren’t happy with the overall look of the website and were looking for a fresher, newer design. Didn’t look great. Redesign. Not one major thing, they didn’t like the platform as a whole.

The biggest challenge on our end was the sheer number of products and categories that needed to be migrated and correctly organized. We wanted to be able to offer their customers the ability to search and filter by a wide variety of attributes which meant adding a lot of custom fields indicating seating capacity, color, design collection, etc.

Our Creative Solution

We utilized the BigCommerce Enterprise platform and migrated Hanover Home off of 3DCart (now Shift4Shop) and designed and developed an industry-leading, best-in-class shopping experience with the user in mind. We utilized many of the native BigCommerce B2B features to build the new site such as customer groups and price lists as well as custom-developed several other functionalities to showcase their product selection.

Beyond Hanover Home’s goal of having a site that is easy for their team to update, our focus was on creating a seamless, visually appealing experience for their customers. With larger ticket items like furniture and decor, it’s important to be as easy to use as possible while offering lots of different avenues to browse or find an exact product. We accomplished this by allowing for product variation within the product listings but also utilizing custom fields and custom filtering to structure categories and menus in a logical flow with the user in mind.
